Deveraux R. Hubbard, D. Min. is a passionate pastor, educator, and community leader who believes every child deserves to see themselves reflected in God's story of love and hope. He has served as the
Lead Pastor of St. Paul Baptist Church in Peoria, Illinois since 1997, where he leads a growing, Christ-centered community focused on practical faith and emotional health.

From 2012 to 2023, Deveraux shaped future ministry leaders as Adjunct Faculty at Lincoln Christian University, teaching courses in pastoral care, ministry, and preaching. His leadership emphasizes
emotional health, pastoral self-awareness, and lessons in spiritual formation that he now brings to his first children's book.

His heart for young readers comes not only from decades of mentoring, preaching, and partnering with families and churches, but also from his personal journey of parenting three biological children and helping to raise 21 other young people through various seasons of life. This lived experience deepened his conviction that every child needs to know they are chosen, seen, and loved by God.

Deveraux serves as President of the Deveraux Hubbard II Foundation, continuing his commitment to leadership, education, and community transformation. He lives in Peoria, Illinois. The Squad of Twelve is his first book.
